PREBOND-ARC Rust Converter cum Ceramic Metal Primer - Acid Resistant Paint

About PREBOND-ARC

PREBOND-ARC is a practical two-coat protective coating system that combines a rust-converter-cum ceramic metal-bond primer base coat (PREBOND-CR) with a high-performance chemical and corrosion-resistant topcoat paint (PREBOND-220).

Both products are single-component, ready-to-use coatings based on silicone-modified polymer technology. The system is engineered for demanding chemical processing, infrastructure, automotive, commercial and marine applications, where surfaces are exposed to strong acid and alkali fumes, moisture, salt water, U/V radiation and weathering.

It is positioned as a practical alternative to selected conventional two-pack epoxy, enamel, PU and rubber-based protective paint systems, with no hardener and no mixing-ratio errors at site.

PREBOND-CR

Rust Converter-cum Ceramic Metal Primer

PREBOND-CR is a high-performance, single-component, ready-to-use ceramic metal primer formulated with silicone-modified polymer technology and ultrafine nano-ceramic pigments. It is designed as a rust-converter-cum surface-tolerant intermediate primer for metal substrates and can be applied by conventional brush, roller or spray. The coating promotes strong adhesion between the substrate and subsequent topcoat while providing an additional protective barrier in corrosive environments.

Key Features

  • Converts existing rust into a more stable protective layer when applied over suitably prepared rusted metal.
  • Provides a smooth, even base for subsequent topcoat application.
  • Strong adhesion and metal-bonding performance.
  • Fast-drying and fast-curing protective primer.
  • Resistance to moisture, salt-water exposure, acid and alkali fumes.
  • Suitable for industrial surfaces requiring durable corrosion protection.

PREBOND-220

Anti Corrosion Chemical Protective Topcoat Paint

PREBOND-220 is a high-performance, single-component, ready-to-use silicone-modified polymer and nano-zinc pigment-based protective topcoat designed for resistance to strong acid, alkali and chemical fumes, salt-water exposure, U/V radiation, weathering, moisture and corrosion. It is positioned as a practical alternative to conventional two-pack epoxy, enamel, PU and rubber-based protective paint systems for suitable chemical and corrosion-control applications.

Key Features

  • Durable barrier protection for indoor and outdoor industrial environments.
  • Forms a stable protective film designed to limit penetration of water, oxygen and corrosive contaminants.
  • Strong resistance to acid and alkali fumes and aggressive atmospheric conditions.
  • Excellent moisture, salt-water, U/V and weather resistance.
  • Helps reduce maintenance frequency and extend service intervals.
  • Single-component, ready-to-use application with no hardener or mixing-ratio errors.

Surface Preparation & Application Procedure

  1. 1Clean the substrate thoroughly using wire-brush, sand-paper or grinding; remove loose rust, dust, grease, oil, old flaking coatings, salts and other contaminants.
  2. 2Apply one coat of PREBOND-CR (Rust Converter-cum Ceramic Metal Primer) by brush, roller or spray. Allow approximately 06–12 hours before re-coating, subject to site conditions.
  3. 3Apply one coat of PREBOND-220 (Anti Corrosion Chemical Resistant Topcoat Paint) as the final protective topcoat, once the primer is adequately dry and free from contamination.
  4. 4For highly-corrosive and highly-acidic/alkaline environments, target an overall two-coat DFT of approximately 120–150 µm.
  5. 5Allow the coating to cure adequately before exposing the system to severe chemical, immersion or service conditions.

Application methods: Brush • Roller • Conventional Spray • Suitable Airless Spray equipment, subject to product viscosity and site conditions.

PREBOND-ARC — Frequently Asked Questions

What is PREBOND-ARC?+

PREBOND-ARC is a two-coat acid resistant paint system made of PREBOND-CR, a rust converter-cum ceramic metal primer, and PREBOND-220, an anti-corrosion chemical protective topcoat. Together they protect industrial surfaces from acid and alkali fumes, moisture, salt water and corrosion.

Does PREBOND-ARC need a hardener?+

No. Both PREBOND-CR and PREBOND-220 are single-component, ready-to-use coatings, so there is no hardener and no mixing-ratio error at site.

How many coats are required and what is the total DFT?+

Apply one coat of PREBOND-CR followed by one coat of PREBOND-220. Each coat is 60–75 µm DFT, giving about 120–150 µm overall for highly corrosive and highly acidic or alkaline environments.

Where can PREBOND-ARC be used?+

It is used in chemical processing plants, hot dip galvanizing plants, fertilizer and pharma plants, steel and cement plants, distilleries, steel structures, tanks, pipelines, machinery and marine or coastal structures.
